Saint Philip’s Youth (SPY)

St. Philip’s Youth, sometimes known as SPY, is an event oriented group. Since our church family is comprised of people not only from Harrodsburg, but also surrounding areas, our youth don’t always attend the same school. We also are a small church family, so our numbers don’t demand consistent meetings for our young people. We like to plan family-oriented events. Family bowling night is one of our favorite events -- all families are invited, even families of one. You will also see our youth helping with community outreach ministries such as the Community Meal. Stay tuned for activities as they will be announced when scheduled!

Saint Philip's Children

St. Philip’s offers Christian education to all Preschool age through Elementary School age children throughout the school year and Vacation Bible School in the summer. On the first and third Sundays of each month, we have Children & Youth Church. Here children learn the basics of our faith and practice through Godly Play stories and Youth lessons. Sometimes, the focus is on Bible stories while other times we teach liturgy. Children's Church begins in the church; the children leave at the time of The Liturgy of the Word and return for the Holy Communion. The Godly Play curriculum is directed toward meeting the children where they are and enriching their journey with God. Including our children in the service where appropriate is encouraged. We feel the inclusion of children in the service will emphasize their rightful place in the church and create a truer picture of God’s Kingdom!

A Prayer for Service

Almighty God, assist us to see your vision of the growth and vitality of St. Philip's. Help us to reach those who do not know your saving grace. Deepen our commitment; increase our faith and trust, that we may live as witnesses to you. May the Holy Spirit lead us to the service you would have us do, as servants of Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.
